]]>Fellow creators,
This is a very personal note from Neal Adams to you, the members of a group we sometimes laughingly call an industry.
Sometimes you forget and even I forget to remind us all that we have come a long way. But we do have a responsibility to the future impact our Industry has on the World.
Others have come along to make multi-million dollar movies of our work, they do television shows of our work and I can tell you as a person who has seen his images on the big and small screen that we have all made an impact and we should be proud to say it . We, are changing the popular culture of the world in ways that only the future will be able to describe. Our images are on tee—shirts, sheets and pillows cases, toys, sneakers and please, yes, the list is endless. I just gave myself a headache trying to think of all of it.
In the late 60’s, after having been an illustrator, a comic strip artist, an advertising pre-production artist, I decided this was the business for me, I decided this was the Industry for me.
So I began battling for rights. I got the artwork returned to the artists who created it, which was a massive battle that took 7 years.
I convinced DC Comics that paying royalties to artists was the right way to go and would benefit the companies to such an extent that it would increase the company’s revenue by the billions. And I was right because any other position is wrong.Marvel comics followed DC Comics but only in part. Their program is only one quarter of what DC’s is and yes, that is a sad commentary but there you go. Other smaller and growing companies are much more liberal and make much more sense and are making an impact on the big two, which is as it should be.
As you know, I have been in the thick of it for most of my life and the truth of the matter is, I enjoy a good fight when I am on the side of right and fairness.
This is a little different. This is ego and I am not ashamed of it. Ego for myself and for all of you.
And yes, I know you’re busy. Most of us work 6 or 7 days a week and bless you if you can keep it under 10 hours a day. I can’t.
But in the middle of all this, in my studio, in the middle of Manhattan, my family and I have created the Neal Adams Gallery. Let’s correct that. Mostly my family. It’s my stuff that’s in the gallery.
The spark plug and dynamic force behind this is my daughter Kristine. We built a beautiful studio and now it is a beautiful gallery. Pete Stone, Kris’s husband and Marilyn Adams and outside forces such as Dan Hort have contributed to make the gallery a major success and it is an ongoing success. It will be here for many years and yes, it does feed my ego and for that I apologize. Ask anyone who’s been here…it’s a beautiful gallery. There’s no modern art, super-realists, or anything that is tremendously sophisticated. It’s comic book art beautifully framed, beautifully displayed, beautifully presented.
If you don’t come and see it, you’re crazy. There are over 50 pieces and it’s all comic book art. Periodically the exhibits change but that’s to be expected.

Neal was working on finishing up a commission at the Chicago Con last weekend this way the owner of the piece could see Neal at work. Neal had a GREAT time working on the color of the piece and I believe a lot of people at the show enjoyed watching Neal work on this piece as well. A commission with a lot of favorite characters that Neal has worked on in the past, Batman, Talia, Ra’s Al Ghul, Ubu and camels. A fantastic weekend was had by all.  This is a Neal Adams exclusive “Civil War” cover that we did with Marvel for San Diego. This cover is being sold by us exclusively. There are two editions available. This one is the Signed and Numbered edition of 1000. Captain America and Iron Man face each other in this epic battle of ideas. |

This print sold like Hotcakes, “The Greatest Athletes of the 20th Century” which was done for ESPN. A very smart art director called and asked if Neal could do The top 100 Athletes of the Century but make it like the Superman VS Muhammad Ali cover. At first everyone said wow that was a really big cover to do the first time around. But we thought it was a GREAT idea so we said yes and here it is to buy. It comes with a key of all the great athletes. A fave for people to look at and guess the athletes and horses and then be able to check out if they are right by using the key.
 Star Trek Green Lantern Crossover #1 from IDW!!!! Another Hot Hot book! This is a variant cover we did for IDW for Books A Million. Who wouldn’t want a Neal Adams Hal Jordan Star Trek cover book. This is a First printing of this book which I hear has gone into a second printing. This is our signed and numbered edition of 150. |

Walking Dead continues to be a popular print. Who doesn’t like Neal Adams pencils? Beautiful line work and shading by one of the Master illustrators.
 One of Neal Adams favorite covers the blue and white Batman Joker face print. This was a very hard to find variant cover that Neal did. This is Neals favorite because it took a lot of thinking to marry the two heads together but still be able to make them separate from one another. I believe Neal drew the Joker side first and then cupped his hand casting a shadow down on the paper to make the Batman head work. Brains are used for this cover! |

Neal recently handed me a new page for Revengers/Megalith that we will be re-releasing this coming year 2015. We will be doing a trade with Revengers/Megalith number 1 and 2 with new pages. Armor number 1 and 2 with new pages added. And Hybrids number 1 and 2. We are revamping these stories with some new art . New coloring. And new lettering. We at Continuity are very excited about this project and I will be posting up some of the new art and pages that are going into these GREAT CLASSIC STORIES. Stay tuned.

Neal also handed in more pages to his Superman story that he is doing for DC. The Working title is “Superman and The New Gods.” This is coming out Great ,I can’t wait to get it done and out the door for 2015.

Also at Continuity we have been working on our “Neal Adams Blood Motion Comic” we are sculpting the Alien in 3D because it is easier to handle since he is a see through character. Here is some of the work behind the scenes. Believe me this Alien will be going through many changes as we progress. Continuity Studios did the Astonishing XMen for Marvel Knights one of the best Motion Comics out there. This will also be out in 2015 with a Graphic Novel from Dark Horse Comics.
